Latest Project - ‘Restore means More’!

Kirsten was a single mother for 10 years and was helped by The Salvation Army with food and counselling. Her grandfather also worked for the Army’s Bourke Street office. That motivated Kirsten and Carole’s decision to do a Film Fundraiser for the organisation.

The film’s title, ‘Restore’, was spot on the money. The Salvos provide a safety net for those who are most vulnerable, lost and alone in our community and, through their many resources, are able to ‘Restore’ many back to being positive contributors to society.

Did you know?

When Kirsten and Carole started liaising with The Salvation Army, they made the exciting discovery that in fact the Salvo’s were the first organisation to form a Film Production company in Australia, called ‘The Limelight Brigade’. The Limelight Brigade went on to become the foremost commercial film production company in Australia and were subsequently recruited to film the celebration and inauguration of Australia’s first parliament in 1901.

Given this interesting personal and historical link, it was an apt decision to raise funds for the Salvation Army using a film called ‘Restore’ as the means.

Helping the Community

The Lumiere Cine Production team hopes to get the young people assisted through the inner-city outreach service, Project 614, participating in this production with the hope of it having a positive impact on their lives and giving them a healthier outlook when it comes to their abilities and vision for their future.
